Manish Gupta’s widow had requested the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath When he met the family in Kanpur on Thursday for a CBI probe.
A government spokesperson said on Friday that a special team of Kanpur Police will investigate the matter till the time the CBI is taken over.
The government also increased the ex-gratia to the family to Rs 40 lakh.
