‘Utmost Faith in Judiciary’: Nora Fatehi Records Statement Before Delhi Court in Rs 200-cr PMLA Case

Fatehi’s lawyer Vikram Singh Chauhan said the actor gave a statement before the magistrate to cooperate with the probe.

bollywood actor Nora Fatehi Recorded his statement before Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Friday in the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving jailed Sukesh Chandrasekhar.

Fatehi’s lawyer Vikram Singh Chauhan said the actor gave a statement before the magistrate to cooperate with the investigation. “Her conduct throughout this matter has been obedient as she has utmost faith in the judicial process as well as the laws of this country. She has time and again proved through her conduct that, despite her contractual obligations, she ensures that, whenever required, she assists the investigating agencies,” he said in a statement.

The Canadian-born artist has been questioned several times by the Enforcement Directorate in this matter.

Meanwhile, the Patiala House Court will hear on January 21 the defamation case filed by Fatehi against fellow actor Jacqueline Fernandez.

In December, Fatehi filed a defamation complaint against Fernandez and 15 media houses over alleged derogatory remarks made against her in the Rs 200 crore extortion case.

Fatehi, who is expected to appear in court on January 21, said in his complaint filed on December 12 that he has a “pristine reputation apart from a rapidly rising career, which has clearly threatened his rivals who have unable to compete with.” on an unbiased level”.

Fatehi claimed that Fernandez’s allegation of receiving gifts from Chandrasekhar was false.

He also denied relations with Chandrasekhar and said that he had spoken to him only when his wife Leena Maria Paul spoke to him on speakerphone in December 2020 at an event in Chennai where she had been invited by him. “In the incident, the complainant was gifted an iPhone and a Gucci bag by Leena. The complainant never received any gift from Chandrasekhar,” Fatehi has said.

Fatehi has also denied receiving a luxury car, saying it was part of a payment to her brother-in-law Bobby Khan, who was approached by Chandrasekhar to direct a film.

The court had on November 15 granted bail to Fernandez, an accused in the money laundering case. He was not arrested in this case.

The ED, which is probing the PMLA case against Chandrasekhar, has accused him of using illegal money to buy gifts for Fernandez, which he received from high-ranking officials including Aditi Singh, wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh. Profile was removed by cheating people. 200 crores Chandrasekhar and his wife Paul were arrested by the ED and are lodged in jail.
