AGRA: A wedding celebration for a family in Agra ended in a tragedy after a bride’s 3 young cousins died in a road accident in Etmadullah area on Sunday, hours before the ceremony.
After performing the last rites of the youth, some family members including the bride, Reena, went to Gwalior where the wedding was to be held on Sunday evening.
The dead were identified as Harsh Rathore, 20, pursuing graduation in science, Prem RathorAnkit Rathore, 18, a Class XI student and 19-year-old Ankit Rathore, had completed his XII and was planning to take admission for graduation.
The accident took place at around 12 noon near the Noonhai police post, when a truck rammed the moped bike on which the three were on board. Harsh and Prem were returning home after picking up Ankit from Rambagh. Police said Prem and Ankit died on the spot, while Harsh succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The bodies were handed over to the family after the postmortem was conducted.
According to family members, Harsha’s father Pawan Rathore had “adopted” Reena from a close relative. The family had planned to leave for Gwalior in the morning along with Harsh and other relatives. But after the accident, only five members left for Madhya Pradesh.
Ankit’s sister Sonam was eagerly waiting for her brother’s call. He said, “My brother wanted to take the bike last night but my father did not allow him because of his safety and asked to go to his cousin’s place in an auto from Tajganj. When I last spoke to him, he was about to arrive. However, I did not get any call from him. So, when I called on his mobile, someone asked us to come to the spot for emergency.

Harsh’s cousin said, “The brothers were working in a factory and were also pursuing their graduation.” RiyaHe said that he was very excited about Reena’s wedding but it all ended in such a sad way.
