UP Covid-19 Update: CM Yogi Calls For ‘Special Vigilance’ In Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad

New Delhi: Amid a spurt in coronavirus cases in the country, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday reviewed the situation in the state and asked officials to immediately make dedicated Covid-19 hospitals functional. In a review meeting with the state-level COVID-19 advisory committee and Team-9, a group of top state officials, Adityanath sought reactivation of the Integrated COVID Control and Command Centre.

Yogi Adityanath said that UP municipal elections 2023 are going to be held next month and there is a possibility of spread of Kovid-19 infection during election campaign and voting.

He said in the meeting that to ensure the safety of the voters, dialogue should be held with the State Election Commission at the Chief Secretary level, while Kovid security kits should be made available to the polling personnel.

“Covid-19 cases are increasing across the country. There are over 38,000 active cases in the country, however, the situation is under control in Uttar Pradesh. Not only is the positivity rate low here, but the health of Covid positive patients is also normal,” he said. Said.

Adityanath said that according to health experts, it is not a situation to panic but to be alert and careful.

Uttar Pradesh currently has 1,791 active coronavirus cases and has a positivity rate of 0.65 per cent so far in April.

“Considering the past experiences, it is necessary that we remain vigilant at every level. We have to be vigilant. Special vigilance is needed in Lucknow, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, Agra and Meerut districts.” CM said.

He said that immediate medical facility should be made available to every suspected patient of Kovid-19.

Adityanath said that elderly people suffering from serious ailments should try to avoid going to crowded areas.

He said that masks should be compulsorily used in hospitals.

He also said that the deficiencies found during the statewide mock drill held on Tuesday should be removed and proper arrangements for health and medical facilities should be made in all the 75 districts of the state.
