The Uttar Pradesh Police has registered a case against 7 people in 5 districts and detained 4 people for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans or celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India during the T20 Cricket World Cup match on October 24. have taken.

Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the high-voltage match played on Sunday in the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.

After the match, there were reports of people raising pro-Pakistan slogans while crackers were burst in some parts of Kashmir.

Also, Jammu and Kashmir Police has detained 6 people after a video purportedly raising objectionable slogans by a group of people in Samba district after the T20 World Cup match went viral on social media. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.

The video sparked widespread protests by various social organizations in Samba district.

In the video, over two dozen people from a particular community are seen celebrating the victory of the Pakistan cricket team against India and raising objectionable slogans on Sunday night.

Samba Deputy Commissioner Anuradha Gupta said, “Six people have been detained in this regard and investigation is on.”

A police officer said that an FIR has been registered.

SSP Samba Rajesh Sharma said that those detained in connection with the incident are being questioned. He said more people may be called for questioning.

Videos of medical students raising pro-Pakistan slogans in their hostels also went viral on social media recently.
