Umesh Pal Murder Case: 5 Arrested, Rs 72.37 Lakhs Cash, Illegal Weapons Seized From Atiq Ahmed’s Office In Prayagraj – 10 Points

Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday recovered Rs 72.37 lakh in cash and about a dozen illegal weapons from a demolished office of mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed in Chakia area here. News agency IANS reported that 11 pistols and dozens of live cartridges were also found. A search was conducted at the spot amid heavy police deployment on Tuesday and a huge amount of cash and about a dozen illegal weapons were recovered from the former MP’s office. He said that five people were arrested today in connection with the investigation into the murder of advocate Umesh Pal and two police personnel.

1. The five arrested have been identified as Niaz Ahmed, Mohd Sajar, Cash Ahmed, Rakesh Kumar and Mohd Arshad Khan alias Arshad Katra, news agency ANI quoted Prayagraj Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma as saying. Where is it?

3. Ahmed is the main accused in the 2005 murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal. He was recently booked in connection with the murder of Umesh Pal, the prime witness in the Raju Pal murder case.

4. Umesh Pal and his police security guard Sandeep Nishad were shot dead on February 24 in Dhumanganj area of ​​Prayagraj.

5. Based on the complaint of Umesh Pal’s wife Jaya Pal, a case has been registered against Atiq Ahmed, his brother Ashraf, wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, associates Guddu Muslim and Ghulam and nine others at Dhumanganj police station.

6. The reward for information leading to the arrest of five accused, including Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad, has been increased from Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh, a senior police officer had earlier told PTI.

7. Arbaaz and Vijay Chowdhary alias Usman, two people allegedly linked to the murder of Umesh Pal, were killed in an encounter with the police on February 27 and March 6, respectively. Atiq Ahmed is currently lodged in a jail in Gujarat.

8. Earlier on Monday, the Prayagraj Development Authority demolished the ancestral house of Mohammad Ghulam, accused in the Umesh Pal murder case.

9. Rahil Hasan, brother of Mohd Gulam, ex-president of BJP Minority Front’s metropolitan unit, claimed that Gulam had sold his share in the house and he had nothing to do with it.

10. A team of Prayagraj Development Authority reached Rasulabad in Shivkuti area around noon and got the house vacated. The roads on both sides of the house were barricaded before the demolition process started using two bulldozers in the presence of heavy police force.
