UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said the portal has been developed in consultation with stakeholders including institutions, universities, colleges, IITs, NITs and INIs.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has developed a portal to track qualitative improvements by the country’s higher education institutions, Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said on Wednesday.

Portal – Transformational Strategies and Taking Action Higher Education (UTSAH) – To monitor the implementation of the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 will be launched by the end of the month.

Kumar said the portal has been developed in consultation with stakeholders including institutes, universities, colleges, IITs, NITs and INIs.

He said that all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will have to login to the portal and submit information on various activities under 10 thrust areas.

“The portal is expected to effectively track and support the implementation of the National Education Policy, 2020 and its strategic initiatives across higher education institutions of the country,” Kumar said.

The portal will collect information from HEIs in 10 key thrust areas, which include multidisciplinary; digital empowerment and online education; skill development and employability; research, innovation and entrepreneurship; Promotion of Indian languages ​​and Indian knowledge systems and internationalization of education.
