Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared on social media that the film did well on its sixth day, Monday, and is inching towards Rs 80 crore.
Ranbir Kapoor is back in the rom-com genre with Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkar. Was also seen sharing the screen with him in the film Shraddha Kapoor for the first time. TJMM has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike and is performing well at the box office. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared on social media that the film did well on its sixth day, Monday, and is inching towards Rs 80 crore.
He wrote, “#TuJhoothiMainMakkaar earns well on Monday [Day 6]…National chains continue to lead, mass pockets remain normal/below par… Wed 15.73 cr, Thu 10.34 cr, Fri 10.52 cr, Sat 16.57 cr, Sun 17.08 cr, Mon 6.05 cr. Total: ₹ 76.29 Cr. #India biz. #tjmm”
Sharing another update, he wrote, “#Tujhuthi Main Makkar at National Chains… Day 6/Mon… #PVR: 1.41 Cr #INOX: 98 Lakh #Cinepolis: 64 Lakh⭐️ Gross: ₹ 3.03 Cr Net BOC. Note: Tentative no. There may be a slight difference in the final number.”
The film also starred Boney Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles and marked the debut of comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi.
Meanwhile, News18 Shosha’s review for the film reads, “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar Kya Lift Karta Hai has a solid cast. Ranbir is in fine form as Mickey. Not only does he make the film look great but he gives a performance that makes you realize that no one but this Kapoor boy could pull it off with such finesse, sincerity and ease. There might not be much scope for heavy-duty performances in a romantic-comedy, but that’s the irony. Kapoor is so busy with himself that you would hardly think he is putting on a show. He is funny and adventurous and hits the ball out of the park even in the emotional scenes. Once again, he steals the show (except for washboard abs) with his brooding eyes. And a special mention to his comic timing too! It would be sad and even unfair to his audience if he stops doing rom-coms in the long run.”
