The world’s fifth and Asia’s longest high speed super car testing track, Natrix, has been completed at Pithampur near Indore in Madhya Pradesh. Here cars don’t run, they talk to the air. Even on the curve, the car turns at a speed of 308 km/h, so what is the maximum speed… there is no limit. That is, drive the car as fast as you can. This track, built in 2960 acres, will give impetus to the automobile industry in the country.

Till now, the vehicles made in the country used to go to the tracks of other countries for testing. Natrix’s Center Head N. Cariappa said that this center has been built in three years at a cost of 512 crores. The normal speed on the track is 250 kmph. The highest speed reaches 308 km on the fourth curve track which is the highest ever.

Which vehicles will be tested here?
High speed category cars like Mercedes, Tesla, Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini and BMW are tested here. Now testing of high speed two wheelers and heavy commercial vehicles will also be done.

Where else in the world are tracks like this?
Such long tracks were so far only in Germany, America and Italy in the world.

Will common people be able to drive their cars here?
No, this track is currently only for corporate vehicle testing. Common people or car racers are not allowed to come here. Vehicles are tested at commercial rates. One to one and a half lakh rupees is charged for testing a vehicle.

How many testing tracks have been built here?
There are 14 types of testing tracks, where two wheelers, cars as well as heavy commercial vehicles will also be tested. This 11.3 km long track is 16 meters wide. Vehicles will be tested on flat, bumpy, wet, rocky, narrow and curved tracks, only after which they will get approval. Its shape is oval i.e. egg-like.

What will be the benefit for Pithampur and Indore?
Due to lack of such track in India, Indian vehicles used to go abroad for speed testing. Indore will benefit from this along with the auto sector of Pithampur. Foreign vehicles will also now be able to come here for testing. Soon there will also be programs like competition, car launching.

Will there be formula car racing here?
The track is not for formula car racing. This is only for testing super cars. Along with testing, companies will be able to use it for their event car launch, super car racing, dealer event etc.

What special techniques were used to make the track?
Before the preparation of the four-lane track, a layer of cement-concrete of different levels has been laid at a depth of more than one meter. The purpose is that the track does not have to be repaired frequently. In spite of the black soil having a deep layer of concrete, it will last a long time.

Why only Pithampur in the country for this track?
Pithampur is the largest auto sector of Central India. Volvo, Eicher, Hindustan Motors, Avatec, Mahindra, Force Motors etc. have more than 100 plants as well as large groups. 20 thousand people work here. Every year a turnover of 25 to 30 thousand crores is done.
