Three injured in mob attack on SUV in Katihar Patna News – Times of India

Katihar: At least three people in the SUV were injured when people involved in a religious procession pelted sticks on a vehicle near National Highway-31. Musapur Chowk Friday evening under Korha block of Katihar district.
A mother-son duo and other family members were returning from Purnia When the incident happened in the SUV. It was a nightmare experience for the occupants of the vehicle as the crowd was boiling and hitting the vehicle from all sides. The three injured in the vehicle were admitted to the Community Health Center in Korha for treatment.
Katihar SP Vikas Kumar said on Saturday that two FIRs have been registered in connection with the incident. “Raids are on to arrest those involved in the attack. Due to Kovid-19, special orders were issued not to take out any religious procession in the district. It is being probed as to how the procession was taken out,” the SP said.
Mohammad Masood Alam, one of the people in the vehicle and a resident of Dumar in Katihar district, said, “We were returning home from Purnia after getting our mother treated. when our vehicle approached Musapur chowk on National Highway 31It was attacked by the people involved in the procession. The miscreants also snatched seven thousand rupees in cash and a cell phone from my brother.
