Bengaluru: National Investigation Agency The (NIA) conducted simultaneous searches at seven places here on Saturday in connection with the attack on two police stations by a mob last year over an alleged derogatory post on social media. The premises of seven absconding charge-sheeted accused were searched, the official said.

The mob attacked policemen, torched vehicles of the force and damaged government and private properties in and around two police stations, the official said.
The NIA re-registered the cases and filed charge sheets against 109 and 138 accused persons respectively in connection with the attacks on two police stations in February.
During the search, several incriminating documents and electronic devices were seized from the premises of the absconding accused, the NIA official said.
