‘Terrorism will not end in J&K till then…’: NC leader Farooq Abdullah to Center

Srinagar: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said terrorism in Kashmir will not end until the government wins the hearts of the people in the Valley and talks to Pakistan to find a solution. Condemning the killing of a police officer by terrorists on Tuesday, he said people would keep dying till the Kashmir issue was resolved.

“The caravan of terrorism will not end. Their (BJP) ministers and other leaders issue statements that it is over, but I want to tell them that it will not end unless you try to win over the hearts of the people of Kashmir and from our neighboring country. Do not find a solution by talking. Abdullah told reporters at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subah here.

Abdullah, the Lok Sabha MP from Srinagar, condemned the killing of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police Mushtaq Ahmed in the city’s Lal Bazar area.

“His son was killed (in an encounter) by the army in 2020. It is unfortunate that he (Ahmed) was killed by terrorists. We do not know who the killer is and who is the savior of the people here. It’s weird. We all condemn it and pray for them. We also pray for the family to bear this loss,” he said.

The NC president sought a “beautiful compensation” from the administration for the family of the slain policeman so that they live with dignity. Asked what is the situation in Sri Lanka and whether something like this can happen in India, Abdullah said, “Anything can happen.”

“God save me. We pray that we don’t have to face such a situation. We also pray for the people of Sri Lanka that God bring them out of this difficult time. Also, God let this government understand the situation So that they take steps to escape from here.

Responding to a question on family planning, Abdullah said whether the government targets a particular community or someone else, it should understand that India is a country of diversity.

“It is a diverse country. Tamil Nadu and Kashmir have nothing in common – no food, no culture, no language, no weather – but what holds us together is that we have to progress together, and overcome poverty, diseases and adversity. Is.”

“The biggest aim was the unity of India. We have to strengthen diversity, only then there will be unity. If we try to break this diversity, then this country will be in trouble and it will be very difficult to get it out of there.

Abdullah took a dig at the administration for not allowing political parties to pay tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931.

“It is unfortunate that they not only canceled its holiday but also stopped people from paying tribute. This is a huge mistake,” he said. When asked about the controversy over the national emblem, the NC president said, “It will all be in slavery.”

“They may even drive a road roller tomorrow. Pharaoh (an ancient Egyptian ruler) did the same. What did Pharaoh do? He harassed people. But what happened then? So, let them do it, how much they want to do. God is and will be. He belongs to all and He is seeing all this. A time will come and he will take action,” Abdullah said.
