Tamil actor Kavin is gaining popularity and establishing himself as a notable figure in the industry. His upcoming movie Star, helmed by director Elan, is slated for release in theatres on May 10. In the film, Kavin will be seen in a woman’s getup. His look is generating traction on social media. Recently, the press conference for the movie Star was held at a private hotel in Velachery, Chennai, ahead of its release. Kavin spoke at the event, offering apologies for any inconveniences experienced by the audience, particularly regarding air conditioning issues. He even shared that Ilan approached him with this story. He said, “I believe I’ve stayed true to the director’s vision for this film.”

He shared, “The character Kareena Chopra played by Santhanam serves as the inspiration for me to don the lady getup.” Kavin also said that filming scenes dressed as a woman was “quite tough and challenging”.

Adding further, Kavin said, “When I heard the story, I realised that this film requires a lot of patience. At first, I wanted a song by Yuvan Shankar Raja for Sathriyan, but it didn’t happen. Now, I’m happy he’s making music for my movie. Dancing confidently is something which doesn’t come easy for me. But after practising, I feel content with my performance. I hope everyone who worked on the movie does well in the future”.

Star, helmed by Jason Sanjay, also features Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, Lal, and Geetha Kailasam in prominent roles, with music composed by Yuvan Shan Raja. After the success of Dada in 2023, Kavin is geared up for the film Star, hoping to leave a lasting impression at the box office.

Kavin recently posted a selfie on his social media, showcasing himself in the lady avatar. Star tells the story of a young actor chasing his dreams. The cinematography is handled by Ezhil Arasu K, with editing by Pradeep E Ragav, and choreography by Sathish Krishnan.
