Tata Concept Curve electric SUV unveiled in India, later to get petrol/diesel engine options

Tata Motors has unveiled an exclusive electric SUV concept in India called the Tata Curve Electric SUV. While Tata Motors plans to launch the long-range Nexon EV and Altroz EV in the coming days, the new SUV concept highlights the brand’s futuristic outlook on EVs. According to Tata Motors, the Curvv electric will be the first SUV and later it will get petrol and diesel engine options.

The Tata Curvv is designed with a coupe roofline and is an evolution of the Tata Sierra EV concept showcased at Auto Expo 2020. According to Tata, the Curvv will be positioned above the mid-size SUV and below the premium SUV segment. In its second gen, it can cover a distance of up to 500 km on a single charge.

As per the teaser film of this next electric concept car, there are few hints related to the exterior. It offers a sneak peek at the front, which features LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) that extend across the width of the bonnet crease, from the sides and into the ORVMs. The primary headlights are located on the bumper of the vehicle. The headlight unit is housed in a triangle-shaped casing.

Gray machine-cut alloy wheels are also seen in the teaser. The logos of Tata and EV are emblazoned on the rear of the vehicle. With its curved back windshield and sleek roof-mounted spoiler, it is eye-catching in the teaser.

The X1 platform that supports Nexon will be used for this model. The back doors will be taller, the roof will be tapered, and the entire back end will be redesigned with longer overhangs. The wheelbase is expected to increase by about 50 mm. It is estimated to be about 4.3 meters long.
