Taapsee Pannu reveals that the makers apologized for dropping her from the film but were hesitant to reveal the real reasons

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has always expressed her opinion about the industry through her social media or interviews. The actress recently revealed that she was dropped from the film without giving any reason and came to know about it from the media. She also shared that the makers of the film apologized to her but never told her the real reason for leaving.

During a conversation with RJ Siddhartha Kannan about being replaced, Taapsee revealed, “Happened to me. Bas was not ready hokke hai, I gave only dates and after that mujhe nikla diya (It happened to me. I didn’t get ready) I just gave my dates for the shoot and then I was thrown out. I came to know through the media.”

He went on to say, “Apparently, he called me and met me, na kehne ke kyun bol rahe ho (why are you talking about it) and everything, just to apologize. After I spoke, They met me to apologize for it. But still, they were hesitant to reveal the real reasons why they did this (why they took my place).”

While Taapsee Pannu did not reveal the name of the film, it can be assumed that she is in talks to be replaced by Pati Patni Aur Woh, which will later feature Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. In 2019, the actress spoke about the same. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the actress revealed that she was not informed about the decision in advance. She further added that the incident affected her work as well.

In response, makers Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra issued a statement saying that she is a talented actress, but they had never committed to her while casting for the film.

Bhushan and Juno’s official statement said, “When a script is locked, every director or producer approaches the actors for the casting of the film, it is a basic protocol that is followed by almost all filmmakers. Similarly, for our upcoming project – Pati Patni Aur Woh, we approached several actors who we thought could be our potential protagonists in the film. Versatile actress Taapsee Pannu was one of the many actresses we met. One of the leading ladies of the film was approached. However, as a producer we have never made any commitments from her. We would like to clarify that our casting was done purely on the premise that the characters suited to T. Who is it. Taapsee is an extremely talented actress and we would love to work with her in future. We will soon make an official announcement for the final cast of Pati Patni Aur Woh.”

On the work front, Taapsee Pannu has played the lead role in Vinil Mathew’s “Haseen Dilruba”, a crime drama also starring Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane. The film drops digitally on July 2.
