Swine Flu Cases Cross 200-mark In Vadodara | Vadodara News – Times of India

VADODARA: The number of swine flu cases reported in the city this year crossed 200 on Monday. The cases have been reported consistently since June.
As the Covid-19 cases rose in June, swine flu also started raising its head in the city during the same time. On Monday, the swine flu case tally reached 201 with two new cases being detected. The new swine flu cases were detected from 10 tests conducted in the city. In all, 604 tests have been conducted this year and 201 of them were found positive.
Sources said that several swine flu cases may also be going undetected as tests are conducted only in the case of severe illnesses. The protocol for the management of the disease also suggests tests only in critical cases. Doctors too point out that only if a person tests negative for Covid-19 and other diseases including dengue, they usually suggest test for swine flu. Meanwhile, the number of new Covid cases has gone down significantly over the past few days.
