Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati sat on a fast at the gate of Srividya Math on Saturday after being stopped from worshiping at Gyanvapi. He said that unless Adi Vishweshwar, who appeared in Gyanvapi, does not worship the Shivling, he will not even take food and water.

He says, ‘The Shivling found in Gyanvapi is our old Jyotirling of Adi Vishweshwar. The deity is worshiped because it contains life. God cannot be kept hungry or thirsty. Their bath, make-up, worship, bhog-raga should be regular.

He further said- ‘Our small demand is that we should allow us to worship our adorable once in a day. The policemen have stood in front of us, blocking our way. Police will do our job, we will do ours. Right to worship is a fundamental right of every Sanatan Dharma.

‘We will not share in sin’:
Questioning the administration for not giving permission for worship, Swami said, ‘The police should take the material of worship from us and worship our deity according to the law. By not worshiping God, we will not become partakers of sin. How can it be good that we take bath, eat and drink water and our God remains like this.’

On the other hand, DCP Kashi Zone RS Gautam, along with the force of 10 police stations, 3 ACP and PAC personnel, has laid siege in front of Srividya Math. In a way, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has a house arrest-like situation.

Worship is not allowed, it is sealed
DCP Kashi Zone RS Gautam said that the place where Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati had sought permission for worship in the Gyanvapi complex, has been sealed since May 16 by the order of the court. CRPF personnel are engaged to monitor that place. The case related to that place is pending in the court. Therefore, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has not been allowed to offer prayers in the Gyanvapi complex.

In this regard, information has also been sent to the police officers by sending them to them. Despite this, if anyone tries to influence the law and order of the Commissionerate area, then strict legal action will not be delayed against him.

Avimukteshwaranand was injured in police lathi charge 7 years ago

Swami Avimukteshwaranand has been in the headlines in the past for his fast. In 2015, the general public also took to the road in support of the workers of Maratha Ganeshotsav Seva Samiti, who were staging a sit-in at Godaulia crossroads to protest against the ban on immersion of Ganesh idols in Varanasi. During that time, the atmosphere became heated as the saints and saints sat on the dharna. Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and Mahant Balak Das had given up food and water to allow idol immersion in the Ganges. On the late night of 22 September 2015, the police had lathi-charged the people badly. A stampede-like situation had arisen due to lathi-charge. More than 40 saints-batuks including Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and Mahant Balak Das were injured. For this, on 12 April 2021, former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav came to Banaras and apologized to Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati.
