- Supreme Court Suggests Sanjay Leela Bhansali To Change Name Of Movie Gangubai Kathiawadi

Ahead of the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi, the Supreme Court has advised Sanjay Leela Bhansali to change the title. While hearing the special leave petition, a bench of Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice JK Maheshwari said this to Bhansali’s lawyer Siddharth Dave. The petition has been filed on behalf of Gangubai’s adopted son Babuji Shah.
Shah alleges that his mother has been portrayed in the film and book as a prostitute, brothel keeper and mafia queen. The Supreme Court will hear the film’s release and title again on Thursday.
Two petitions of Gangubai’s son dismissed
Shah says the book on which the film is made is defamatory. Their right to live life with privacy, self-respect and freedom is violated. Shah’s petition was dismissed by the Mumbai sessions court in February last year. After that he went to Bombay High Court. Where the bench of Justice Nitin Sambre also rejected it.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is releasing on 25 February. Apart from Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa are also going to be seen in lead roles in the film.
The family has been in trouble since the film started.
Gangubai’s granddaughter Bharti says that we have to change house from here since this film started. We can’t go to functions. We have to change our numbers. Gangubai’s adopted daughter Sushila Shivram Reddy told that Gangubai had adopted us. She is my mother. No one speaks to his mother as Dakan. In the film that is coming, he has presented my mother as a dakan and a prostitute. This is done wrong.
To save the honor of the family, in the shelter of the court
Gangubai had adopted four children in 1949, today there are 20 members in her family. Gangubai’s family members, who have been living their lives for so many years, were surrounded by questions with the release of the trailer of the film. Not only this, the family members of Gangubai did not even know that any book had been written on her mother. Gangubai’s son, who is constantly becoming a joke among the people, has approached the court to save the honor of his mother and family.
