MUMBAI/NAGPUR: Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray hit out at Dy CM Devendra Fadnavis, saying Fadnavis asking for votes in the name of Balasaheb Thackeray was an acknowledgment that the Modi era was over.
Referring to Fadnavis’s statement that “the true Sena and BJP alliance under leadership of CM Shinde, based on the ideas of Balasaheb Thackeray, will install the saffron flag atop BMC,” Uddhav said Fadnavis had highlighted it will not be useful to ask for votes in Modi’s name anymore.
On his arrival in Nagpur on Saturday night, Fadnavis slammed Uddhav’s statement, saying, “I believe Uddhavji has either not heard my speech or has not understood it.
All I said is the dream Balasaheb saw for Mumbai was shattered by his own people, as they were busy in corrupt practices. We will fulfill that dream.” He added, “In the past, people voted for Shiv Sainiks because of Narendra Modi.”
