”Furthermore, the documentary has been banned in India and contempt has been invited as per the orders passed by the Himachal High Court… In view of this the screening of the film should be stopped immediately and in future also will not be displayed in the premises. ,” said the registrar. BJP’s state media co-incharge Karan Nanda has also written to the police asking them to ensure that screening of the documentary is not allowed. SFI leaders lashed out at the government accusing it of being intolerant.

Shimla Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi told PTI that no formal complaint has been lodged by the HPU so far and the police is probing all aspects.

The SFI, the student wing of the CPI(M), has tried to screen the BBC documentary in several universities.
