Salary Details Now Part Of Most Job Postings In India, Delhi Leads

New Delhi: Salary transparency and salary details have increased significantly with job postings in India in recent months to attract the best talent, a report showed on Monday.

The job portal said that nearly 46 per cent of all-India job postings on the Indeed website now include employer-provided salary information, an increase of 64 per cent over the past year and 11 per cent over the past three years.

Cities such as Delhi (208 per cent), Mumbai (71 per cent), Bangalore (63 per cent) saw the highest increase in jobs, which offered salary data to potential job seekers.

However, Tier 2 and 3 cities are far from salary transparency, and cities like Nashik and Surat are witnessing a decline in job postings with salary details.

Indeed India Sales Head Shashi Kumar said, “Employers in India are adapting to the changing demographics by adopting new strategies to attract the latest generation of talent. High attrition rates and intense competition for skilled workers are driving a shift towards pay transparency. Change is needed.”

Going forward, we see the market becoming more conducive to payment transparency, he said.

In India, there is no law that mandates payment transparency. However, the workplace has changed with GenZ coming to work post-pandemic, who are embracing pay transparency.

Other cities such as Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Mohali saw a marginal increase of 2 per cent, 15 per cent and 18 per cent respectively on salary transparency.

The report noted that remote job postings saw a 76 percent increase in pay information, indicating how important remote jobs still are in the Indian landscape, with more employers choosing transparency to attract the right talent. have been
