NEW DELHI: Star Indian shuttlers Saina Nehwal and B Sai Praneeth will lead the women’s and men’s teams. Thomas and Uber Cup Final, is scheduled in Denmark from 9-17 October.

The 10-man men’s team also included four singles players and three doubles players.
Along with Praneeth and former world No 1 Kidambi Srikanth, the Trials’ top-2 singles players Kiran George and Sameer Verma have made it to the squad.
Country’s top men’s doubles pair Chirag Shetty And satwiksairaji Rankireddy has been selected in the team along with the top-2 ranked pairs from the trials.
for players Thomas and Uber Cup and the Sudirman Cup, were selected on the basis of their performance in the recently concluded trials, apart from the automatic selection of players/pairs who are placed in the top-20 in the world rankings.
Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has not been included in the squad as she requested not to consider herself for selection after the Olympics is over.
In the Thomas Cup, the Indian team is placed in Group C along with defending champions China, with Netherlands and Tahiti as the other two teams.
Whereas in the Uber Cup, the women’s team is placed in Group B along with Thailand, Spain and Scotland.
On the other hand, a 12-man squad for the Sudirman Cup, the top-ranked doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun from the trials has been kept in the squad along with Srikanth, Praneeth and the doubles pair of Satwiksairaj and Chirag.
In women, the top-2 singles pairs from Trials, Tanisha-Rutuparna and Ashwini Ponnappa-N Sikki Reddy have been selected with the top-2 singles from Trials Bansod and Bhatt.
In the biennial tournament, the Indian team will compete in Group A with defending champions China, Thailand and hosts Finland.
