Filmmaker Jason Blum, founder of Blumhouse Productions, which specializes in making horror films, has predicted that RRR will win the Oscar for Best Picture.
SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR was one of the most successful films of 2022, not only in India But also globally. The film starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, embellished with quirky dance sequences, visual extravaganzas and surreal fight segments, attained a cult status in no time. Now, Hollywood producer Jason Blum has joined the chorus of international stars to express their appreciation for RRR.
Blum, the founder of Hollywood studio Blumhouse, which has produced Oscar-nominated film “Get Out” and horror films like “Paranormal Activity” and “Insidious”, is confident that Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR will bag the best film honors this year. Oscar.
“I win best picture with RRR. You heard that here for the first time. Please mark it,” he tweeted. “If I’m right, I’m giving myself my own Oscar award,” he said.

RRR also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris. It centers around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, their fictional friendship and their fight against the British Raj.
Set in the 1920s, the plot explores the unspecified period in their lives when the two revolutionaries chose to fade into oblivion before starting to fight for their country.
This comes after Interstellar star and Oscar winner Jessica Chastain, who is also an Academy member, praised RRR. Jessica Chastain shared a clip of the iconic ‘Naatu Naatu’ song on her Twitter handle along with a small appreciation post for Rajamouli’s film. She wrote, “watching this movie was such a party.”
