Jr NTR indirectly addresses trolling

Looks like RRR actor Jr NTR has given an indirect reply to trolling for his ‘fake accent’ on the red carpet of Golden Globe Awards.

Last week, SS Rajamouli’s film RRR created history as it won the Golden Globe Award for its song Naatu Naatu. The entire nation celebrated the victory and praised actors Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. However, a certain section trolled the latter for her ‘fake accent’ on the red carpet. The actor was interacting with the press and a video of him has gone viral where he can be heard speaking about the film. Some netizens found his tone a bit off-putting and criticized him for it. However, he also found support from his fans and some of his industry colleagues. Now, looks like the actor has addressed the trolling indirectly.

During an interview with LA Times newspaper, the actor talked about the film and SS Rajamouli and said, “I always felt that this man was not destined to make films only in Telugu or India. He is one of the few who can take the world around with his films. With each film, he has only gotten better. I think it was his plan to take RRR west. We are very proud that South A small industry of India, Tollywood and a film called RRR can open the door to global cinema and bring us here.”

He continued, “We’re only divided by time zones and a little accent. Other than that, what an actor goes through in the West goes through the exact same process as it does in the East.”

Meanwhile, RRR also won two awards at the Critics’ Choice Awards. The team is now eyeing Oscar.

Besdies Ram Charan and Jr NTR, the film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Rahul Ramakrishna, Rajeev Kanakala, Samuthirakani, as well as British actors Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody and Olivia Morris.
