Kantara directed by Rishab Shetty dominated the box office and turned out to be a huge blockbuster. Shetty, who stars in the action thriller’s cast, also wrote the screenplay and oversaw production. He recently made the exciting announcement of Kantara 2, leaving fans in awe. Fans are keeping an eye on the developments of the film. Here’s an interesting update for you. Urvashi Rautela can play an important role in the prequel.
On Saturday, the actress shared a picture with Rishabh, hinting towards the sequel. Her caption read, “#KANTARA 2 @rishabshettyofficial @hombalefilms loading #RS.”
However, Urvashi did not reveal any further details. As per reports, she had recently gone to the office of Humble Films for a meeting. She also met Rishab Shetty. However, no official information has come on this matter.
Set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, “Kantara” follows a Kambala champion, also played by Shetty, who comes at loggerheads with Murali (Kishore), an upright forest range officer. Kambala is an annual race, held from November to March in coastal Karnataka, in which a jockey drives a pair of buffaloes tied to a plow through parallel muddy tracks. The film was released in Kannada version and Hindi version on 30 September and 14 October respectively. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Humbel Films, the film also stars Saptami Gowda and Kishore Kumar in pivotal roles.
‘Kantara’ is set in coastal Karnataka and deals with the politics of land and the issue of man versus nature. Set and shot in Keeradi, coastal Karnataka, the film stars Rishabh as a Kambala champion turned logger with Murali (Kishore), an upright DRFO officer. The film, which released on 30 September, is an action-thriller written and directed by Rishabh and produced by Vijay Kiragandur.
