Rishabh Shetty’s blockbuster film Kantara has achieved yet another feat after breaking several records at the box office. The film has made it to the contender list of Oscars 2023. On Monday, January 9, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the list of 301 films eligible for the 95th Academy Awards. And, directed by Rishabh Shetty, the film has qualified for the 95th Academy Awards under the Best Picture and Best Actor categories. Now, netflix A video of Rishabh Shetty was shared on social media, in which he thanked the audience for showering immense love on the film.
In the video, Rishabh Shetty can be heard saying in Hindi, “Hi, I am Rishabh Shetty, Kantara has qualified for Best Film and Best Actor at the Oscars. I want to thank all the fans of Kantara. Earlier, Rishab Shetty had revealed that Kantara had made it to the merit list for the prestigious award night. For those unaware, this means that the film is eligible to cast votes for Oscar members to push it through to the main nominations. The final nominations for Oscars 2023 will be announced on 24 January. After this, the 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12.
Apart from Rishabh Shetty, the cast of Kantara also includes Saptami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty and others in pivotal roles. The film successfully crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the box office with its gross worldwide collection.
