Ranbir Kapoor said that the entire experience of ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ is close to the Kapoor family.

Ranbir Kapoor said that he had gone to Delhi to convince Rishi Kapoor to go to the US for treatment. “… His first instinctive reaction was ‘But what about the film? I need to finish it’,” the actor said in a statement to PTI.

Ranbir Kapoor said that during treatment, his father often wondered whether he would get a chance to act in films or even “finish this film”. After shooting for “Sharmaji Namkeen” for almost a month, Rishi Kapoor felt pain again, reveals the actor. “He was declared cancer free in September and he was back at the end of September and by December he was back on the sets, he shot for maybe 30 odd days and then he had a sabbatical, but I guess That this is the way he would have loved working in a film and not yet hanging up his shoes and doing it with passion,” said Ranbir Kapoor.

Described as “a relatable and heartwarming tale of self-realization and discovery”, the film follows the life of a recently retired man who ends up cooking after joining a female kitty circle. discovers his passion.

Ranbir said that “Sharmaji Namkeen” is a lovely film apart from being his father’s swansong. He said, “It is truly a heartwarming story that we can all connect to. It is a film that we can watch with our entire family and such stories are rarely made and I would love to watch it. Really excited how the audience will react to it.”

After Rishi Kapoor’s death, the makers roped in actor Paresh Rawal to complete the remaining parts of the film, making it the first time two actors played the same character in a film.

“Sharmaji Namkeen” also stars Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha and Isha Talwar.
