Rampal of Satlok Ashram acquitted in another case: Relief in drug captive case, but will remain in jail; District judge dismissed the appeal of the government

After getting relief in the drugs case, the director of Satlok Ashram, Rampal has been acquitted by the court in another case. The court of District and Sessions Judge Arun Kumar Singhal has acquitted 5 accused, including Rampal, while hearing the case of obstructing government duty and taking hostage. In this case, an appeal was made by the government in the district court, which was rejected by the court. Earlier in 2017, the Judicial Magistrate had acquitted Rampal and the rest of the accused. After that the government appealed to the upper court, but the sessions court also upheld the lower court’s decision.

On November 17, 2014, the Barwala police station had registered a case against Rampal of Satlok Ashram, Ramphal of Badhawad, Rajendra Kumar of Bhatgaon, Bijendra of Rohtak, Pritam of Imlauta on charges of obstructing government duty, taking hostage. While hearing this case, on 29 August 2017, the court of Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Saini acquitted all the five accused from the case. After the lower court acquitted the five accused including Rampal, the government appealed in the district court. After three years of action, the district court upheld the lower court’s decision and dismissed the government’s appeal.

Murder case convict Rampal lodged in Hisar Central Jail
Apart from this case, Rampal has been acquitted in the drugs case recently. Rampal, the director of Satlok Ashram, is currently serving life imprisonment till his last breath in the murder case and is lodged in Hisar Central Jail. A case is going on against Rampal for sedition and possessing a large number of gas cylinders. In November 2014, there was a disturbance in the Satlok Ashram in Barwala of Rampal, in which 6 followers of the ashram were killed. In connection with this dispute, cases related to sedition, murder, obstruction of government duty, stocking of gas cylinders etc. were registered against 22 others, including the operator of Satlok Ashram.
