The makers unveiled a save-the-date video starring Rajesh and Chitra, which was speculated as their wedding announcement video.
Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval is considered one of the most popular directors in the Malayalam film industry. He has directed films like Android Kunjappan, Kanakam Kamini Kalaham and Nanna Than Kes Kodu. Now, the director is coming up with a romantic comedy film, Sureshanteyum Sumalatha Yudeyum Hriday Haraiya Pranayakadha (The Heartwarming Love Story of Suresh and Sumalatha).
The film is a spin-off of the original, Nanna Than Case Kodu, and will be based on the characters of Suresh and Sumalatha. Rajesh Madhavan and Chitra Nair will be seen reprising their roles from the film. Rathlesh said Suresh and Sumalatha’s funny moments were appreciated by the audience and as a result, he decided to make a film on their story. She also added that their pairing got a lot of recognition after the release of the film.
A reception was organized on the first day of the shoot. Rajesh and Chitra were seen with the director of the film. Both of us took blessings of Rateesh before starting the shoot. As per reports, the film is set against the social backdrop of North Malabar and offers a very realistic love story with great importance given to its rituals.
Earlier, the makers had revealed a save-the-date video starring both the leads. Allegedly, this was part of his publicity strategy. Initially people thought that this video was the announcement of their wedding date. In the video, both are seen dancing in unique outfits during the clip.
Later, another clip was released by the makers, revealing the wedding date. Rajesh Madhavan posted the wedding card on his social media which read, “Slow and steady love wins. A Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval event.”
After seeing the wedding invitation, people understood that this is the announcement of his upcoming film.
The shooting of the film started on May 29, 2023. It is produced by Silver Bay Studios and Silver Bromide Pictures and written by Ratheesh Balakrishnan. Music composed by Don Vincent. It is also co-produced by Ratheesh Balakrishnan, JK and Vivek Harshan.
