In a statement, the South Western Command Headquarters said that following the firing, the station’s quick reaction teams were activated and the area was cordoned off and sealed.

At least four people were killed in a firing incident at Bathinda Military Station in Punjab in the early hours of Wednesday. The South Western Command Headquarters said in a statement that the firing was reported at 4:35 am, following which the station’s rapid response teams were activated and the area was cordoned off and sealed.

The statement said that the search operation is going on.

According to the police, army personnel could be behind the incident as the army was not allowing the local police to enter the cantonment area.

In a statement, the police said that all the entry gates of the Army Cantt have been closed to prevent the entry of the police.

An INSAS rifle along with 28 cartridges also went missing about two days ago.”
