PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region recorded 4,415 cases of Covid-19 on Friday, its maximum single-day tally since May 19 last year when 4,557 people had tested positive. The recoveries too increased to 709 in PMR in the last 24 hours and five more patients succumbed to the infection, taking its toll to 19,264.
While the Pune municipal areas added 2,757 new cases on Friday, the PCMC limits recorded ‘s 1,000. The rural areas added cases in three digits (569), while cantonments reported 89 detections. The daily testing climbed to 30,231. As many as 18086 samples were checked in the PMC limits.
