Ahead of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in the UK to attend celebrations in honor of the Queen’s 70th year on the throne.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have officially arrived in Britain ahead of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee ceremony, which honors their 70th year on the throne. According to the Daily Mail report, the two have arrived in the British capital city with their kids Archie and Lillibet. It will be the first time the couple’s youngest child, Lilibet, will meet Queen Elizabeth. Lilibet will be meeting the British monarch ahead of her first birthday on June 4.

According to People, the couple will be attending the Trooping the Color ceremony with their children, where Queen Elizabeth will be present on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. However, Meghan and Harry will not accompany the Queen to the balcony. Traditionally extended members of the royal family watch a flypast on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during Trooping the Colour with Queen Elizabeth. However, People reported that it was announced that only working royals and some of their children would gather on the balcony. As People reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will watch the annual Trooping Parade from the office of the Major General.

Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020, and the couple moved to the US. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, the couple made some shocking revelations about the British royal family and how the staff created a hostile environment for the American actress.

Meghan had also reported that some family members were concerned about the color of her first child’s skin, a clear insight into the monarchy’s problematic racist approach.

According to TMZ, the couple and their children are being provided with high level of police protection while they attend jubilee events in England. The report mentions that the family will receive armed police protection at royal events or at Frogmore Cottage.
