Veraval: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of four projects worth Rs 83 crore of the famous Somnath temple in Gujarat on August 20.

SST trustee cum secretary PK Laheri told reporters, “PM Modi will inaugurate three projects and also conduct a virtual ground-breaking ceremony for Parvati temple near the main temple for Rs 30 crore.”

“While the Prime Minister will hold ground level demonstrations for four projects along with the inauguration, union home Minister Amit Shah, who is a trustee, will also attend through video conferencing,” Laheri said.
Chief Minister of Gujrat Vijay Rupani and other dignitaries will attend the program in the auditorium.
The three projects to be inaugurated include a one-kilometre-long “Samudra Darshan” walkway built at a cost of Rs 49 crore along the seafront behind the temple, a newly constructed museum of ancient artifacts built near the temple at a cost of Rs 75 lakh, and a renovated The “Ahilyabai Holkar Mandir” or the old Somnath temple located opposite the main temple, he said.
