According to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, registrations are at least 15 lakh more than last year

A record 38 lakh students registered this year to participate in the annual student interaction “Pariksha Pe Charcha” with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Regarding issues related to exam stress.

The sixth edition of the dialogue is scheduled for January 27 at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in the national capital. “Over 38 lakh students registered to participate in Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) this year, of which over 16 lakh are from state boards. This is more than twice the registration (15.73 lakh) during PPC 2022. The registrations have been done from 155 countries,” Pradhan said at a press conference.

The minister informed that 20 lakh questions have been received and NCERT has shortlisted questions on various topics like family pressure, stress management, prevention of unfair means, how to stay healthy and fit, and career selection.

“Discussion on exams has strengthened into a mass movement in the last few years and the huge jump in student participation is a testimony to this. The unique and popular initiative has boosted the confidence of the students, helped them manage stress and stay healthy and fit. Around 2,400 students will be benefitted by the Prime Minister’s words of wisdom at Talkatora Stadium. At the same time, crores of students will watch the program live from their respective schools.

Pariksha Pe Charcha is an annual event where Modi interacts with students appearing for upcoming board exams. During the event, he also answers the queries of the students related to exam stress and other issues.

The first edition of Prime Minister’s interaction program with school and college students was held at the stadium on February 16, 2018.

Registrations to participate in the annual event were open from last November 25 to December 30.

Pradhan said that 80 winners of the Kala Utsav competition by NCERT and 102 students and teachers from across the country will also witness the main event as special guests on January 27.

“Participating students will be taken to places of national importance like Raj Ghat, Sadav Atal, Prime Minister’s Museum, Kartavya Path to acquaint them with our rich heritage. The winners of the Kala Utsav and students and teachers from the selected states will also witness the Republic Day Parade on 26 January and the Beating Retreat on 29 January.

The Minister said that on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, a painting competition was also organized in 500 districts across the country as a precursor to PPC-2023.

Around 50,000 students from KV, NV, State Boards and CBSE affiliated schools participated in the competition after paying homage to Netaji. The theme of the paintings is the mantra given by the Prime Minister in his book ‘Exam Warriors’. Seeing the phenomenal success of this book, it is being published in 11 Indian languages ​​- Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
