Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US visit will focus on his bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden, the Quad Summit in Washington and his address at the UNGA on September 25.

At a critical time when the formation of the Taliban government is underway Afghanistan, Prime minister Narendra Modi He is expected to make a three-day visit to the US later this month to meet with President Joe Biden and top administration officials. According to reports, discussions are expected between PM Modi and President Biden on other issues including Afghanistan, Kovid-19, climate change, Indo Pacific, terrorism.

The visit is also taking place at a time when America is about to complete 20 years of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. According to a report in Hindustan Times, a scheduling team will reach the US in advance on September 9, while PM Modi’s visit will begin with a bilateral meeting with President Joe Biden in Washington on September 23. This will be followed by a physical Quad (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) summit the next day, the report said.

After this, PM Modi will address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on 25 September before going back to India. This is his first international visit after Bangladesh in March.

A major topic of discussion for the bilateral meeting will be the diplomatic implications of Taliban-controlled Afghanistan as PM Modi held his first physical meeting with Biden after taking over as president, as reported by HT.
