Speaking to reporters, Ramos’ grandfather Rolando Reyes said that the boy was staying with them because he had problems with his mother and had dropped out of school.
He said that Ramos was not at home when he shot his wife. “Maybe if I was there, maybe he would have killed me too,” Reyes said.
“I don’t like weapons. I can’t be around weapons. I’m against everything I would have reported to him,” he said.
