“Bridgeton” star Ruby Barker says she is being treated in hospital for mental health issues. The 25-year-old actress who plays Marina Thompson in the hit Netflix The period drama, shared in a video posted to her Instagram page on Thursday that she sought professional help as she wanted to deal with the “intergenerational trauma bundled inside”.

Barker revealed that he chose to focus on his mental health after being “unwell for a really long time” and is “better”.

“I want to be honest with everyone, I’m struggling,” she told her 231,000 followers, “so, I’m in the hospital at the moment and I’ll be discharged soon and I hope to continue, you You know, with my life and I’m going to take a little break for myself.”

In the candid video, she urged fans to “stop being so hard on yourself” and seek help when going through a similar experience.

“I want to encourage others, if you’re struggling, please do yourself a favor. Take a break, stop being so hard on yourself. And people always told me not to be so hard on yourself.” Be, and I never really knew what that meant.”
