Ahead of the release of Pathan, Shah Rukh Khan sat down for an in-house interview with YRF and talked about working with Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and others.

Though Shah Rukh Khan is not giving interviews ahead of the release of Pathan, the superstar sat down for an in-house chat with Yash Raj Films. The production house on Wednesday shared a video in which Shah Rukh answered several questions about the film. One of which was about reuniting with Deepika.
Shah Rukh packs a punch in the action sequences along with balancing a sensuous performance of Deepika in Shameless Rang and says she fits the role perfectly. He confessed that Deepika appears tougher than him at times in the film and performs better than him in the action sequences.
“You need someone of Deepika’s stature to be able to pull off a song sequence like Besharam Rang and then you know, to be able to do the action where she takes a guy and pulls him up and beats her, she is hard enough to even do that. Such a combination could only be achieved with someone like Deepika. It’s quite a layered character for an action film heroine to say so,” said Shah Rukh while appreciating the actress.
Speaking about the emotional scenes in the film, Shah Rukh teased that Deepika has a gray character in the film and will be seen questioning herself in some scenes. He added, “There are two to three sequences in the film where you get to know why she’s trying to balance that she doesn’t know whether she’s good or bad and then that character has a huge vulnerable side, He added that, while the visuals help understand his character, Pathan does not delve into his depth.
“Being an action film, we cannot go too deep into it and keep following that approach because when you come to watch an action film, after 10-12 minutes, you want to see action or some thriller. . But I think it’s enough for Deepika to be extremely likeable and vulnerable in a good way, not because she’s a woman and very strong. So physically she needs to look like that and still be feminine, so it’s a layered character for an action film heroine.”
Shahrukh is working with Deepika after nine years. They were last seen together in Happy New Year directed by Farah Khan. He has also worked in films like Om Shanti Om and Chennai Express.
Meanwhile, Pathan is part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe and stars the country’s biggest superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. YRF’s adrenaline pumping film, Pathan, is all set to release on January 25, 2023 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
