He requested the judge to hear the matter related to removal of the seal on the door of the party headquarters at Avvai Shanmugam Salai in Royapettah area of ​​the city. “You file the petition. I will hear you tomorrow,” replied the judge. The counsel for the OPS, also known as Panneerselvam, later made a similar request to the judge. “You complete the formalities for filing the petition. I will take up the matter tomorrow,” the judge told the lawyer.

After a violent clash between supporters of the EPS and OPS at the party headquarters on 11 July, the party’s General Council elected Palaniswami to the current post and expelled the OPS and his supporters from the AIADMK, which was sealed by the revenue department. at the office door. The seal was imposed out of fear of creating law and order problem and maintaining peace in the area, the officials explained while imposing the seal.

Several activists of both the groups were injured in the clashes and many were arrested and later remanded to judicial custody.
