ISLAMABAD: A three-day conference on peace in Afghanistan, which was to be hosted by Pakistan from Saturday, has been postponed until Eid al-Adha, officials said on Friday due to rising violence in the war-torn country and barbs in between. said in the midst of business. Earlier on Thursday, Afghanistan’s Vice President Saleh tweeted: “Pakistan Air Force has issued (a) official warning to the Afghan Army and Air Force that any move to remove the Taliban from the Spin Boldak area will be rejected by the Pakistan Air Force. Will be confronted and driven out. Pak Air Force is now providing close air support to Taliban in some areas. (sic)
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has categorically denied the allegations. “We are committed to peace in Afghanistan and will continue efforts in this direction, despite adversaries,” the FO said on Friday.
