Vadodara: Covid-19 cases in the city and district saw a significant dip with only 29 cases being reported in the 24 hours ending on Friday evening. The new cases were detected from 1,965 tests performed during the period.
All four zones of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) reported Covid cases in single digits after a long time. These include four cases each in the east and south zone and five cases each in the west and north zone of the civic body. Areas of the district outside city limits reported 11 cases.
On Friday, as many as 237 persons were discharged. Three deaths were also confirmed by the VMC. This left 645 active cases in the city including 144 admitted to hospitals. The hospitalised cases include 11 in serious condition on ventilators or BIPAP machines.
Since the pandemic began 1,33,614 cases have been reported in the city and district. Out of these 1,32,221 persons have been discharged even as the official death toll stands at 748.
