Vadodara: The detection of crime branch (DCB) arrested four persons for allegedly cheating the Hitachi company of Rs 60 lakh. The accused were booked after the security agency hired by Hitachi filed a complaint of cheating.
According to the police, the accused duped the company by tampering with the weighing scale that was kept at Gate 4 of the firm. “One of the accused tampered with the weighing scale and another fitted in a chip. They used to change the numbers on the weighing scale and take more scrap that it showed on the machine,” said VB Aal, investigating officer.
The accused committed fraud between January and December 2021 and duped Hitachi of Rs 60 lakh. One of the accused Pradeepsinh Bhadoriya is the supervisor of Globe Detective Security firm. He joined hands with the other accused Rajendra Giri, Tarun PatelDeepak Patel and Anuj, The cops are yet to nab Anuj.
The police said that Tarun was arrested in the past for sheltering the murder accused and Rajendra was arrested in a case of rioting. “Anuj is the mastermind of the entire racket. Once he is nabbed, we will get more information,” Aal added.
