OnePlus has released the new Android 13-based OxygenOS version for its existing devices, but some people are facing issues.

OnePlus is busy preparing for its global launch event for the OnePlus 11 series in less than a week, but the company has other issues to deal with for its existing users. The company is concerned about bricking incidents reported by OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro owners, and it looks like OnePlus has finally realized that the Android 13 OxygenOS update is the culprit.

The company has also released the Do Not Install update on its community forum, but the warning has come a bit late for those who have already installed the update and are stuck with unusable OnePlus 9/9 Pro phones.

So, you might be wondering why OnePlus delayed sharing this information with users, which may have reduced the number of units affected due to the issue. Well, turns out, OnePlus didn’t have its Oxygen OS team available at work because of Chinese New Year.

Even though it may sound strange, credit has to be given to the company for being clear about the reason, but it does not bode well for those who are still using the OnePlus 9/9 Pro models.

“For a small subset of users during the initial rollout, we noticed that some of them encountered an issue where the update would not boot. To avoid affecting more users, we immediately halted the rollout and started investigating the issue,” OnePlus highlighted in its post Here,

The affected version was OxygenOS 13 F.19 with firmware LE2111_11.F.19 on the OnePlus 9 and LE2121_11.F.19 for the OnePlus 9 Pro smartphone. It has also released a new update version F.20 to fix devices that were restarting after installing the F.19 version.

The company realizes the mistake on its part, and would like to compensate any users affected by this issue by accessing a service center or shipping the device using the OnePlus mail order repair service. OnePlus assures that their devices will be reset to previous settings and they will not lose any data stored on the phone.
