Bhopal: The victim of public urination incident in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district has appealed to the state government to release the accused Pravesh Shukla. The aggrieved native tribal said that the accused has realized his mistake. Pravesh Shukla was arrested by the police on Wednesday after he was accused of urinating on Dhasmat Rawat, a tribal community who came from the village. The incident was captured in a viral video on social media, following which a case was registered against the accused and his arrest.

In addition to charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, strict action has also been initiated against Shukla under the National Security Act (NSA). Currently, Shukla is in jail and his alleged illegal portion of land in Sidhi has been demolished. When asked about the action taken against the accused on Friday, Rawat said, “I demand from the government that they have realized their mistake and now Parvesh Shukla should be released. Whatever happened in the past, they should Realized your mistake.”

When questioned about the demand for release despite the objectionable act committed by the accused, Rawat said, “Yes, I agree. He is our village priest, and we, the community, request the government to release him.” We do.” Rawat also said that apart from building a road in the village, he does not demand anything from the government. The incident has created a political controversy in Madhya Pradesh as the state is due for assembly elections at the end of the year. The Congress party has accused the accused of having links with a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, while the BJP has denied any links with him.

Let us inform that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan washed the feet of the victim at his residence in Bhopal on Thursday and apologized for the humiliating incident. However, opposition parties dismissed Chouhan’s gesture as mere political drama. The state government has also sanctioned a financial assistance of Rs 500,000 to the victim and an additional amount of Rs 150,000 for the construction of her house. A Brahmin organization on Friday condemned Shukla’s act, saying his act was reprehensible, but his family members should not be punished for his behaviour.
