No such plan, says Moose Wala’s father amid offers to contest Sangrur bypoll ‘unopposed’

Shortly after meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the father of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala on Saturday took to social media to appeal to people not to pay heed to the rumours of his joining politics.

Using her late son’s Instagram account, Balkaur Singh He put out a video message in which he said that he was saddened by the speculations going on on social media. Singh said in the video that he has no intention of contesting any election.

He thanked people for standing by him in this hour of crisis and requested fans Sidhu Moose Wala to participate in Soft Ceremony on June 8 where he will share his thoughts with the attendees.

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mansa on 29 May. According to the post-mortem report, there were 19 bullet marks on his body.

Economist Singh Johal had proposed that Balkaur Singh be allowed to be elected unopposed. Sangrur The by-election to the Lok Sabha seat is to be held on June 23. Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Leader of the Opposition Partap Bajwa, however, voiced support for Johal’s proposal.

Balkaur Singh and his wife Charan Kaur met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Chandigarh airport on Saturday. It is said that in the meeting, Moose Wala’s father had demanded a probe by central agencies into the brutal murder of his son.

Shah had reached Chandigarh on Saturday and held a meeting with Punjab BJP leaders.

Moose Wala’s family had earlier written to Amit Shah demanding a probe by central agencies into the murder of the famous Punjabi singer.
