Newly-married Indo-Ukrainian couple survived Russian invasion, reception held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, It’s a story that makes the perfect plot for a movie. Hyderabad resident Prateek had returned from Ukraine with his newly wed Ukrainian wife Lyubov on February 23. Had they waited another day, they would have had to evacuate the country as Russia invaded it on 24 February.

After a narrow escape from the war, the Indo-Ukrainian couple hosted a reception in Hyderabad on Monday, where they were blessed by CS Rangarajan, the famous head priest of the Chilkur Balaji temple.

Hyderabad resident Mallikarjuna Rao and Padmaja’s son Prateek also had a Hindu marriage with Hunov, after which ‘panigrahana‘, Monday.

After blessing Pratik-Lyubov, the priest said that the war between Russia and Ukraine resulted in widespread bloodshed and upheaval, with the world already devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Back in Ukraine, stranded Indians are facing tough times as they try to leave the country. In its latest advisory, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine has asked Indian citizens to leave Kyiv immediately by any available means as the situation escalated.

The Narendra Modi government in Delhi has launched “Operation Ganga” to bring back Indians from Ukraine. Many students from Telangana have returned to their hometowns, and the government has assured that all those stranded in Ukraine will be brought back safely.
