The rapidly increasing cases of corona in Delhi are starting to scare. Amidst the fear of a fourth wave, more than 1000 new cases were registered in the capital on Wednesday. 1. Bulldozer in Delhi’s riot-hit area, Supreme Court will hear today

A bulldozer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi ran fiercely in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Wednesday. Years-old illegal encroachments were demolished outside the mosque which pelted stones on the procession. The Supreme Court ordered to maintain the status quo, but due to non-receipt of the copy of the order, the encroachment was removed for 2 hours even after this. Experts are also calling it contempt of Supreme Court. The top court will hear it on Thursday.

On this day in 1997, Inder Kumar Gujral became the 12th Prime Minister of the country. At that time a coalition government was going on at the center under the leadership of HD Deve Gowda. With the withdrawal of Congress support, the government collapsed. After this, it was decided to make Inder Kumar Gujral the Prime Minister in the meeting of the coalition parties. Gujral was sleeping at his house at that time. The leaders of the coalition reached his house and woke up Gujral, who was the foreign minister in the Deve Gowda government, and said – wake up, now you have to become the prime minister.

Finally, on 21 April 1997, Gujral took oath as the Prime Minister. He remained in the post of PM till 19 March 1998. Gujral was born on 4 December 1919 in Jhelum, Punjab, Pakistan. Son of freedom fighter parents, Indra had obtained MA, PhD and DLit degrees. He married Sheela Gujral on 26 May 1945. Inder Kumar Gujral died on 30 November 2012 after a prolonged illness.
