Monsoon advances in parts of Bengal, Bihar; IMD predicted heavy rain

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday (June 18, 2022) said that the southwest monsoon has advanced into parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar. IMD in its bulletin said, “Southwest Monsoon has advanced into entire West-central Bay of Bengal, most parts of North-West Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, some more parts of Jharkhand and Bihar today. ” The Meteorological Department said that conditions are favorable for further advance of Monsoon into some more parts of Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and North-West Bay of Bengal.

Monsoon will also advance into some more parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha, some more parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Northeast Uttar Pradesh during the next two to three days. “Extensive to very widespread rain/thundershowers very likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during next 5 days. Isolated over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during June 18-20 There is a possibility of heavy rain.” IMD said in its latest bulletin.

IMD said that under the influence of strong south/southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal to Northeast and adjoining East India, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 3 days. Chances are.
