Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu’s answer reminds me of RM and J-Hope’s BTS army, here’s why

Harnaaz Sandhu has made India proud by bringing home the Miss Universe crown after 21 years. Her predecessor, Mexico’s Andrea Meja, who won the competition in 2020, crowned Hernaz as the winner, while Paraguay’s 22-year-old Nadia Ferreira came second. It is natural that Indians are rejoicing at her achievement, but the model from Chandigarh is also seen warming the hearts of BTS Army.

Fans were full of nostalgia as his reply during the final round reminded him of a speech given by BTS member RM aka Kim Namjoon to the United Nations in 2018. BTS talks about what it takes to practice self-love and acceptance. He gave a seven-minute speech to the United Nations in English. RM claimed that his life changed when he resolved to follow his heart and shut out the cacophony of the outside world which he thought should be ideal for him.

Here is RM’s iconic speech during UNICEF’s global initiative, Generation Unlimited:

Harnaaz Sandhu’s motivational words are actually based on the same philosophy as BTS, and provide encouragement to all those struggling to cultivate self-love and acceptance. The BTS fanbase isn’t wrong when they spot a connection between the two speeches and highlight it on social media to find out if she’s also a part of ARMY. His answers also reminded the fans of J-Hope.

Take a look at the comparisons made by BTS Army on Twitter:

When asked what advice would she give to young women to deal with the pressures she is facing today. He said, “The biggest pressure that today’s youth is facing is to believe in yourself, to know that you are unique and that is what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourself with others and the world Talk about more important things happening across the country. That’s what you need to understand.”

To the thunderous applause, the 21-year-old continued, “Come out, speak for yourself because you are the leader of your life, you are your voice. I believed in myself and that’s why I stand here today.”
