The Dow Jones Industrial and the S&P 500 were up 0.03 per cent, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.2 per cent.

A British brokerage said on Tuesday that the Reserve Bank of India is in a bind, given the current state of inflation above the mandated band and weak growth.
